Project
The project “Soft Frequency” explores the potential of textiles as an active architectural element that shapes how space is experienced visually, tactually and acoustically. It consists of a modular system of hand-tufted textile panels that simultaneously define the identity of an interior and contribute to its acoustic quality.
The panels are conceived as a flexible system that can be freely combined, expanded and adapted to different spatial contexts – from private interiors and music studios to coworking spaces, hotels and public interiors. Their relief surface, created through the process of hand tufting, generates a dynamic interplay of light, shadow and texture, transforming the wall into a spatial element that is both visually expressive and functional.
The project questions the possibility of soft materials taking on a role traditionally reserved for rigid architectural elements. The proposed acoustic core, made from recycled textile waste, opens up the possibility of developing a sustainable product that connects artistic textile practice, functional design and the principles of the circular economy. Rather than treating textiles as a decorative finishing layer, “Soft Frequency” proposes a new approach to interior design in which textiles become an active, multifunctional building element that shapes both the atmosphere and the performance of space.

Loop Lab Studio is a Zagreb-based design studio dedicated to tufting and the exploration of wool as a medium for contemporary product design. Alongside original rugs, mirrors and other functional objects, the studio investigates the potential of wool within interior design, with an emphasis on visual and tactile experience.
Its practice focuses on material experimentation, the development of new products and the creation of objects that enrich spaces both aesthetically and sensorially. Loop Lab Studio has been active in Zagreb since 2024.
