Solar Power, Lorde

Project
The project “Solar Power Album Redesign” explores the idea of creating an interactive cover for singer Lorde’s album. The outer sleeve features cut-out lettering, whose form is inspired by psychedelic pop as the album’s core genre reference.
The lyric booklet is designed as an accordion fold, allowing for two cover colour variations. One side evokes a sunrise through its palette, while the other suggests a sunset, creating a shifting visual experience. When layered, the elements form a graphic inspired by the beaches of New Zealand, Lorde’s country of origin.
Through a simple yet thoughtful interaction, the project connects the musical content, visual identity and the artist’s background, transforming the album packaging into a dynamic and multi-layered object.
