The “13orice” book stand is inspired by the street of the same name in Rijeka. Its form refers to a sculpture located there in memory of thirteen victims of the fascist regime.

The project emphasises the importance of reading and education as means of preserving historical memory and resisting censorship and ignorance. The stand functions both as a practical object and as a spatial sculpture. Different arrangements of books create changing perspectives and relationships between the books, the structure and the surrounding space.
