Schuma - Your indoor environment monitor

Project
The “Schuma Root” project is an experimental product prototype that explores the relationship between plants, indoor air quality and interaction design. It combines sensor technologies, artificial intelligence and product design to make otherwise invisible environmental data understandable and accessible through intuitive interaction.
Rather than treating the plant solely as a decorative element, the project positions it as an active part of a system that contributes to a healthier indoor environment. “Schuma Root” examines how design can shape a more meaningful relationship between people, nature and technology while transforming environmental data into an engaging and tangible experience.

Schuma Labs is an interdisciplinary team bringing together designers, researchers, and software and hardware engineers to develop products, digital services and interactive systems. Its work operates at the intersection of industrial design, visual communication, interaction design and emerging technologies, with a particular interest in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT) and user experience design.
The team is currently developing a prototype platform for monitoring indoor air quality and exploring the potential of plants to improve it. The project combines product design, digital interface development, sensor technologies and artificial intelligence to create intuitive and sustainable solutions for everyday spaces.
Schuma Labs was founded by Emil Flatz and Marin Kovačić.
