Lowlands

Project

The visual identity for the “Lowlands” music festival was developed during the second year of the undergraduate Media Design programme as part of the Visual Communication and New Media course. The project was inspired by the festival’s open and approachable tone of communication and its emphasis on individuality.

The beauty of diversity is expressed through abstract graphics that are reframed and adapted across different media. This approach creates a range of varied compositions that consistently develop the identity’s central message while allowing for flexible application.

The graphics were created through an analogue process of hand-painting and subsequently digitised to preserve their authentic character, texture and deliberately imperfect aesthetic.
