The project “Interpretation of Musical Code Through a Visual System” was originally developed as a proposal for the competition to design souvenirs for the gift shop of the Croatian Music Institute. Its aim was to create a contemporary visual system that reflects the institution’s identity, heritage, and artistic values.

The project explores the possibility of translating works by Croatian composers into a visual language. Through the analysis of rhythm, tempo, tonality, emotional character, and instrumental colour, it develops a series of abstract visuals that function as visual equivalents of musical structures. Using transparent forms, layering, and rhythmic modules, each composer is assigned a distinct visual code.

The project includes interpretations of works by Ivan Padovec, Ferdo Livadić, Vatroslav Lisinski, Blagoje Bersa, and Boris Papandopulo, offering a contemporary visual perspective on Croatian musical heritage through design and visual art.
