Project
The project “IGSM Zagreb 2026 Visual Identity” was created for the Student Union of the Faculty of Geodesy on the occasion of the 38th edition of the International Geodetic Student Meeting (IGSM). The event was planned to take place in Zagreb in 2026, and the aim of the project was to develop a visual identity that represents the host city, Croatian culture, and the field of geodesy.
The central motif of a topographic map placed within a licitar heart symbolically connects tradition and profession. The colour palette, inspired by the Croatian flag — red, white, and blue — further emphasises the national identity and recognisability of the design.
During the development process, the focus was on creating a flexible visual system that could be applied across different media while maintaining consistency throughout all applications. Special attention was given to balancing functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that every element was both visually coherent and clearly communicative.

Author
Lara Berda and Luka Horvat hold master’s degrees in Graphic Technology from the Faculty of Graphic Arts, University of Zagreb. During their studies, they developed an interest in visual communication, graphic design and visual identity design, with an emphasis on creating functional and aesthetically considered solutions.
They began collaborating during the final year of their master’s studies while volunteering for the Student Union of the Faculty of Geodesy. As part of the organisation of the international event IGSM Zagreb 2026, they developed the project’s complete visual identity, from the initial concept and design to its application across a range of printed and digital communication materials.
