Project “From Packaging to Sculpture: Luxury Reimagined” was created for a premium gin bottle as a sculptural secondary packaging solution that transforms a traditionally disposable object into a lasting, multifunctional system. Rather than being discarded after opening, the packaging is designed to remain as a durable object of purpose, presence and value.
Inspired by the island of Brač, the project extends the bottle’s narrative through a sculptural form that reflects the island’s material identity. Its two-part structure transforms from protective packaging into a display stand, while also functioning as a standalone sculpture or a two-object installation. Through four different configurations, it encourages long-term use and redefines the relationship between people and packaging.
To evoke the appearance and tactility of Brač stone, the object is made from a specially developed polymer composite. The material preserves the visual character and perceived monumentality of stone while reducing weight to ensure practical handling, transport and repeated use. Each piece is hand-finished, introducing subtle variations that reflect the irregularities of natural stone.
By combining sculptural form, multifunctionality, material innovation and craftsmanship, the design transforms secondary packaging from a temporary container into a lasting object with functional, spatial and cultural value.
