FRGMNT

Project
The “FRGMNT” project is a speculative design project exploring the future of personal memory in an age of rapidly expanding digital traces. It begins with the assumption that existing storage models will be unable to accommodate the continuous growth of photographs and other data.
The project imagines a system that fragments, encodes and organises photographs into a new form of digital archive. Through a critical approach, it examines how artificial intelligence might transform the ways in which personal memories are stored, searched and interpreted.

Author
Ana Dilger-Pintarić is a first-year master’s student in Industrial Design at the School of Design, University of Zagreb Faculty of Architecture.
Her projects explore modularity, adaptability and opportunities for users to participate actively in shaping products and spaces. She is particularly interested in design systems that remain open to change and different interpretations, allowing new relationships to develop between objects, users and their surroundings.
Her recent work examines contemporary patterns of everyday life and considers how design can raise questions about our relationship with memory, personal experience and the ways in which we construct our own narratives.
