The “Electric Blue Type Specimen” project was developed as part of the Typography course to present an existing typeface through its defining features and visual character.

The typeface includes multiple weights that can be overlaid to create numerous combinations. This quality is demonstrated through transparent acetate sheets, each displaying a single weight that can be viewed independently or as part of a layered composition.

The letterforms are constructed from combinations of “melted” pixels that evoke a science-fiction aesthetic, which also informed the specimen’s graphic design. Its elongated vertical format, concave elements and rounded corners reflect the shapes of the pixels, while details such as a battery-charging icon replacing conventional page numbers further develop the futuristic concept.

Monochromatic blue text on a black background refers directly to the typeface’s name. The specimen presents its weights, sizes, numerals and glyphs, while also demonstrating every possible overlay combination characteristic of the typeface.
