Instalacija
The interactive installation explores and articulates the role of design in the presentation and interpretation of cultural heritage, based on the view that the way heritage is shaped and communicated directly participates in the building of collective identity.
The installation “WE NEED TO TALK” communicates its concept through two messages inscribed on rotating, reflective surfaces:
“Cultural identity is designed by thoughtfully assembled details.”
“Design for heritage reflects the image of our future.”
Their fragmentation and changeability, conditioned by the movement of the elements, encourages visitors to actively participate and interpret the meaning. The textual content is not only informative but is closely linked to the materiality and character of the installation; reflection, layering, and a change of perspective become the key bearers of the message.
Within the spatial installation, selected realised projects are also presented. A series of video clips and photographs showcases fragments of original works, integrated into permanent and temporary museum exhibitions, as well as into spatial installations and interactive exhibitions set up in various indoor and outdoor public spaces throughout Croatia and Europe.
Studio
Clinica Studio works across the design of public and exhibition spaces, artistic installations, museum displays and interaction design. The installation “We Need to Talk” explores the role of design in the presentation and interpretation of cultural heritage, based on the premise that the way heritage is shaped and communicated directly contributes to the construction of collective identity.
At the centre of the installation are two statements displayed on rotating reflective surfaces: “Cultural identity is designed by thoughtfully assembled details.” and “Design for heritage reflects the image of our future.” Their fragmented and changing appearance, determined by the movement of the elements, invites visitors to participate actively and construct their own interpretation of the message. The text is not merely informative, but becomes inseparable from the material character of the installation, with reflection, layering and shifting perspectives acting as key carriers of meaning.
The installation also presents realised projects by the studio. A series of video excerpts and photographs shows fragments of works developed for permanent and temporary museum displays, spatial installations and interactive exhibitions in a variety of indoor and outdoor public spaces across Croatia and Europe.
