Textured Spaces is a creative workshop which explores texture as an important element of interior design using the hand-tufting technique. Using specialised tufting needles, participants will create textured textile surfaces by inserting various yarns into a woven base, from which unique tapestries and decorative cushions are made.

Through guided practical work, participants will familiarise themselves with the entire creation process – from idea development and motif selection, transferring designs onto the base, choosing yarns and combining colours, to creating texture with different stitch types and finishing. They will explore how stitch density, loop height, and diverse textures shape the visual identity and tactile quality of the textile object.

The workshop encourages experimentation with materials, colour, and relief, and the development of personal creative expression through a contemporary approach to textile design. It is intended for anyone interested in textiles, design, and interior decoration, regardless of prior experience. Participants will create their own textile product that combines functionality, aesthetics, and the value of handcrafted work, creating a unique detail that brings warmth, character, and a personal touch to any space.
