The “MOON ROOM” project encompasses an independent gallery, art studio and experimental laboratory for contemporary art, located in a heritage-protected building at Prilaz Gjure Deželića 76 in Zagreb. The 18 m² space, with a height of more than four metres, was leased from Državne nekretnine in 2026. A complete reconstruction transformed it from a severely deteriorated interior into a contemporary, multifunctional space for exhibitions, artistic production, research, education and dialogue with the public.

The concept is based on the idea that architecture is not a neutral backdrop, but an active medium of artistic experience. The limited floor area is used through a futuristic, minimalist design that emphasises light, proportions, the height of the space and the possibility of flexible exhibition layouts. Each interior element has a clearly defined spatial and functional role, supporting media ranging from drawing and installation to sound, video and performance.

MOON ROOM functions as a gallery, working studio, laboratory and educational space for workshops, artist talks, guided tours and small cultural events. It focuses on contemporary art, interdisciplinary collaboration and direct encounters between artists, professionals and audiences.
