LATENT

Project

The conceptual unisex fragrance “LATENT” reinterprets the perfume bottle as an object of memory and explores the relationship between analogue and digital culture. Inspired by the form of a 35 mm film roll, the project reflects on the disappearance of slow and deliberate image-making in an age of accelerated digital documentation. Rather than presenting analogue and digital culture as opposites, it brings them into a dialogue between past and present, the visible and the invisible.

The name “LATENT” refers to the latent image, an invisible photographic record stored on film before development. Just as the image is gradually revealed, scent can awaken a memory before it is recalled visually.

The outer packaging also functions as a camera obscura, allowing a selected moment to be projected onto the perfume bottle. Through this process, each bottle is personalised and transformed into a unique emotional archive.

The project presents fragrance as a ritual of slowing down and experiencing moments consciously. By connecting the physical language of analogue photography with the invisible nature of scent, it transforms an everyday object into a lasting carrier of personal memory.

Capture the moment. Carry the memory.
