Vicente Esteban, an artist, designer, and educator, born in Cádiz, Spain, studied engineering and applied arts. In London, he obtained degrees in Multidisciplinary Design (Goldsmiths, University of London) and Information Experience Design (Royal College of Art). He has worked for industry (Worldpay, Burberry, Statoil, AGA, Linde Engineering) and art organisations (Barbican, Sustrans, Furtherfield Gallery, Zadok Studio). He taught design at Goldsmiths and London College of Fashion. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Design at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, China.

Niwa Escalona, a researcher, educator, and equality advocate with a queer perspective, was born in Cádiz, where she studied Hispanic Philology. Her Erasmus study in Nottingham encompassed Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American studies. She completed an Inter-university Master's Degree in Gender, Identity, and Citizenship Studies and defended her doctoral dissertation “Transfeminism and Sex Work: Counter-Hegemonic Struggles Against Exclusionary Radical Feminism in the Spanish State”. She published the article “The Clientele of Prostitution in Spain: Between Reality and Fallacy” and contributed to the book “Tomorrow Is in Our Hands” (El Jardín de Judith, 2022) about the loneliness of queer people. She coordinated the book “Trans/bordes: New Lines for Trans Thought” (Kaótica Libros, 2026). Since 2023, she has been a member of the research group HUM 536 “The Problem of Otherness in the Contemporary World” at the University of Cádiz. Since 2017, she has been active in feminist activism, and since 2021, a member of the intersectional collective Jarana.
