Project

STOL is a site-specific installation in the ALU courtyard. In keeping with the exhibition’s set-up, a table of hypertrophied dimensions is installed in the ALU courtyard. On the opening day of ZGDW, visitors are served the most ordinary meal in the world on the table: bread and butter. The offered dish represents a constant of every table. Collaboration has been planned through donations and personal arrangements with small businesses and large manufacturers. On other festival days, STOL is simply a table that invites people to sit at it, but its oversized nature has the potential to create many unexpected situations and interactions. For festival visitors and participants, STOL can serve as a space for workshops, discussions, performances, social gatherings, rest, temporary storage, or even new food design – that which arises spontaneously. Daily documentation of newly arising situations at STOL will affirm its existence, and the installation will be accompanied by a small zine – a compendium of tables and gatherings.
