Project “Final_mag_1br_.pdf” is a quarterly student magazine dedicated to exploring the graphic design process. Rather than focusing solely on final outcomes, it examines the less visible aspects of creative work: research, experimentation, uncertainty, mistakes, doubt and decision-making. It is based on the idea that the value of design lies not only in the finished result, but also in the process that precedes it.
Through interviews with graphic design students from Croatian and international universities, the magazine presents their working methods, approaches to design and experiences of studying. Particular attention is given to creative blocks and strategies for overcoming them, challenging the expectation that the design process should be linear and seamless.
The second part presents selected projects by the interviewed designers, tracing their development from initial sketches and visual experiments to the final outcome. This reveals the evolution of ideas and demonstrates the role of iteration, testing and critical reflection.
The project encourages students to embrace uncertainty as an essential part of design and to continue exploring, experimenting and questioning. By making the creative process visible, it promotes curiosity, persistence and a willingness to make mistakes, reminding readers that meaningful design often emerges through continuous investigation rather than immediate success.
