Program

The Design and Visual Communications programme at the Academy of Applied Arts, University of Rijeka, functions as a dynamic laboratory of creativity, connecting artistic tradition with the challenges of contemporary society.

The programme enables students to develop their own creative approach through the exploration of visual communication, graphic and information design, typography, new media and other contemporary design practices. Emphasis is placed on connecting conceptual thinking, experimentation and practical work, while understanding design as a discipline operating within cultural, social and professional contexts.

Through project-based learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and engagement with real users, institutions and the market, students develop the ability to think critically, communicate effectively and create design solutions that respond to concrete needs and changes in the contemporary environment.
