The School of Design, Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, is the only university-level design programme in Croatia to bring together industrial design and visual communication design through an interdisciplinary approach to design, research and critical reflection on contemporary society. The curriculum connects artistic, technological and humanistic disciplines, encouraging students to understand design as a tool for addressing complex social, cultural and technological challenges.

Across its undergraduate and graduate programmes, students develop skills in research, conceptualisation, experimentation and the realisation of projects at different scales – from products and spaces to visual identities, digital interfaces, interactive systems and speculative scenarios for the future.

Particular emphasis is placed on the design process, interdisciplinary collaboration and engagement with industry, cultural institutions and local communities. The programme fosters a responsible, critical and sustainable approach to design as a discipline that actively participates in shaping contemporary society.
