CRUZ Side Tables

Project
The “CRUZ Side Tables” set comprises three wooden side tables based on simple geometric forms: a circle, a triangle and a square. Each piece follows a clear structural logic in which the tabletop and base are joined into a compact, architecturally inspired sculptural object.
The project explores the boundary between functional furniture and sculpture. Although fully functional, the tables retain a strong spatial presence even when not in use, owing to their distinctive silhouettes and visible construction.
The collection is designed in solid wood, with an emphasis on material honesty, balanced proportions and reduced form. The three versions can be used independently or arranged as a small set, offering distinct characters within a coherent design language.

Author
ERNAK Design is a newly established independent furniture and object design studio founded by Csaba Budai. The studio operates between Budapest and Lisbon.
Its work is defined by reduced forms, clear structures and material honesty, resulting in objects with a restrained yet distinctive architectural character.
Drawing on his background in architecture and scenography, Csaba Budai approaches furniture as a spatial object. He creates functional pieces with a sculptural presence, designed to work both independently and as part of the broader atmosphere of an interior.
