Brigada Design Carousel

Project
Brigada is dedicated to creating spatial experiences, and for the Zagreb Design Week exhibition, they devised an analogue, interactive installation that activates the body, emotions, and memories without relying on digital layers. The installation is conceived as a carousel that guides visitors through the history of design.
It consists of five carefully selected chairs that represent key milestones in the development of furniture design: Thonet No. 30 (1859), Zig Zag (1934), Tulip (1956), Mezzadro (1957), and Panton (1967). Each of them reflects the spirit of its time, yet all share the same purpose: to provide a place for sitting, rest, and contemplation. This constant precisely underscores Brigada's fundamental interest in how space creates an experience, regardless of style.
The installation invites visitors to active participation, to sit, spin, laugh, or evoke a personal memory, experiencing design through the body, movement, and reaction. Design Carousel speaks to the idea that everything can change; materials, technologies, and forms, while the relationship between people and space remains at the very heart of all design contemplation.
