Project
The “Bojan” project is a DIY inkjet printer that users can assemble, repair and customise. Unlike closed commercial printers, which are difficult to repair and often treated as disposable products, “Bojan” is designed as an open mechanical and electronic system.
Users can observe the printhead moving along its axis, the motor feeding the paper and the electronics controlling the printing process, while also modifying individual parts to suit their needs. The construction is based on standard components and 3D-printed brackets, while the printing format is determined by the length of the rods selected by the user.
“Bojan” therefore functions as an accessible platform for experimentation, straightforward maintenance and personalisation, while encouraging a better understanding of technology and extending the device’s lifespan.

Author
Jakša Bogdan is an Industrial Design student based in Zagreb. Although his formal education focuses on product design, he continuously explores different areas of creative practice, from typography and visual communication to the restoration of old bicycles and furniture. He is particularly interested in moving between digital and physical processes and learning through experimentation.
His work explores how design can bring together function, aesthetics and accessibility. He seeks to develop projects that are visually engaging and technically considered, while remaining understandable and usable by a broad range of people.
His approach is grounded in practical solutions, sustainable thinking and the design of objects that improve everyday experiences.
